BROTE DIGITAL
THE PROJECT
​
BROTE DIGITAL is a performative project that intertwines contemporary dance, Butoh and circus arts.
It was born in 2021 in Barcelona, when G. Re was attending the professional school of circus arts Rogelio Rivel. Based on one of her writings (Even with some effort//the sprout//is architecturally programmed//to be a cathedral) she begins a physical research that studies the internal movements of the sprout from photos and timelapses. She names this research Nodi Corporei (Body Knots) and thus composes the first module of the project, named ROSSO - BROTE DIGITAL.
The project includes three modules: NERO, BIANCO, ROSSO. These are designed to function narratively both individually and in succession.
Nowadays the modules BIANCO and ROSSO are finished and can be staged individually or one after the other, taking the name of BROTE DIGITAL (BIANCO - ROSSO).
THE THEME
​
The transversal thread of the modules is the discovery of oneself and the search for the outside, the exploration of balance: the three non-characters are marginal, scarring figures, who create, are born or move away from their nest of waste tissue. With the desire to be white sheets, mirrors in which the audience can see themselves reflected and rethink themselves, the non-characters are endowed with a body consciousness and move in an intimate environment, a space of meditation for their own use and that of the public, inhabited by silence and slowness.
THE MOVEMENT

The scenic body is close to the animalesque, the insect, the difficulty of a sprout that breaks the skin of the seed and discovers new realities.
THE "AIM"
​
'Speaking' with their movement to anyone who wants to listen, 'listening' thanks to silence and slowness to anyone who wants to be heard, proposing the body as a fertile and stateless territory.
Devoting themselves to the body in every detail, almost to the point of losing consciousness of its entirety, they consider it as a territory and, disclosing it to themselves and the public, they bring the focus to the importance of its emotions. The performance is a meditation interval in which silence -space necessary for the development of thoughts- and slowness -anachronistic space useful to the knowledge of detail- reign.
THE INSPIRATION
